Ready for May Flowers

Am I the only one who is totally over these April showers?! I’m so ready for the clouds to be gone and the sunshine to show it’s face! I suppose I can’t do too much complaining because we’ve definitely had a few teasers, but I want to be able to wear looks like this every day! Fortunately, we’re headed down to Miami for a family vacation and cruise next week and then leaving again for California May 6th, so guaranteed sunny skies are on my horizon! I bought this adorable floral number from II Brunettes to take on both of our trips. It’s super versatile and can easily be dressed up for dinner, as shown, or worn for a casual day exploring when paired with flat sandals or even a jean jacket and sneakers! I just love how easy breezy it is and the print is to die for!

I jumped on this bright pink Three Little Beads necklace the instant I saw it at Trés Carmen Boutique! It was a new color for the local jewelry designers and while I’m typically not too much of a pink girl, I knew I had to have it for summer! I initially thought it would be the perfect layering necklace, and it is, but really love how effortless it looks as a stand alone with this dress. It’s like they were made for each other! Plus, they also coordinate perfectly with my magenta sandals. Can y’all believe these were a $20 Lulu’s purchase?! Gotta love that! However, if I had the money to blow, I would sooo rock it with these fabulous Schutz shoes (that I’ve already pre-ordered in the white). Ps: if you’ve never heard of Schutz, everything of theirs is AMAZING and really not too crazy of a price point!!

Since I already had so much color going on and nobody likes too much of a matchy matchy look, I opted to carry my simple nude GiGi New York clutch. I considered pairing it with my classic Clare V. leopard clutch, but even though the patterns coordinated perfectly, I felt it darkened this light and airy look too much. This is the perfect easy breezy dress to add to your closet, that you won’t get sick of wearing after one time! Stay tuned on social media to see how I decide to style it for vacation!!

While I am always into trying new trends and making statements with fashion, I also have a signature style, so to speak. I think everyone has this {lately for most girls it’s a Piko top and leggings} but it is something you can easily throw on and feel comfortable and confident wearing anytime. For me this style is “vanilla.” Being the only brunette in my high school trio of besties, my girly blonde friends gave me this title. I always gravitated towards loose, flowy fabrics in neutrals, pastels and soft colors. Still to this day, I get text messages from them saying “I found something SO vanilla for you at Anthro!” and it never fails to put a big smile on my face. I have branched out since my high school days, but if I can’t find anything to wear, vanilla is the route I take. This outfit is the epitome of a “Brittany Vanilla Look.” These slouchy pants are the softest fabric ever and such a beautiful nude color. A pair of these are a must have in your closet for Spring because of their versatility and comfort! I wore it with this blouse that is one of my favorite colors and perfect for a nice Spring afternoon. Since it was such a relaxed, casual look I wanted to jazz it up a bit in the shoe area so I wore these amazing strappy wedges. These hotties will give you the look of a heel, but the comfort of a flat!! With such a simple vibe, I had to take things up a notch in the accessories department. Anyone who knows me, knows- ya girl LOVES a headband or head wrap! I literally have about a million and my collection just continues to grow! One like this could be worn as pictured or across the forehead, but for today and my {rare} straight hair I decided to keep it back on my head. I stuck with my new favorite simple go to necklace that is just a dainty little gold bar, but in it’s simplicity it is also so chic. My new favorite fashion vice {other than headbands} are Bourbon and Boweties bangles. O-M-G!!! I had always seen them, but never took the plunge until a trunk show at one of my favorite boutiques, Trés Carmen, and now I.can’t.stop! I want them all!! Not to mention their owner Carley is an absolute sweetheart; you gotta love supporting young women in business! They have a wide variety of colors and stones and you are bound to find one {or 10} you love. I started with a very vanilla mix of ambers, browns and blush pinks, but have since branched out a bit and have quite the nice little stash going. So now that you know my signature style, what is your go-to outfit that you feel your best in?!

PJ’s in Public

So, this jumpsuit may have officially just become my favorite article of clothing in my whole entire closet! Why, you ask. Because it is the chicest way to feel like you haven’t gotten out of your pajamas, of course! This has got to be the most comfortable outfit ever made and whoever invented the jumpsuit (or as Todd calls it “the onesie”) is a genius. The material is super loose and breathable, making this perfect for transitioning to Spring or even those cool Summer nights. This hot little number can be dressed down for a casual daytime look or dressed up for a snazzy date night. Today, I styled it to easily be taken from day to night. First off, turquoise + black = everything, these two colors are always amazing together. And with this outfit you cannot go wrong pairing it with a chunky statement necklace. So, this seven strand turquoise necklace and this black jumpsuit are a match made in heaven! Instead of wearing it with the expected black wedges, I put this with a pair of suede, tan booties. It just really gives a bit more edge to the outfit than a pair of matching black shoes. Grab a tan clutch (I prefer mine with the killer tassel) and you’re ready to take on the entire day! For example, this is the perfect Sunday Funday attire. It easily takes you from brunch to shopping to drinks to dinner to more drinks in style, all while feeling like you haven’t even gotten out of bed!
