shift dress

This just might be the world’s most versatile dress! The black & white print is perfect to pair with virtually any color. I particularly like it with neons that really pop. It can be easily dressed up with strappy heels and a statement necklace or worn as casually as a bathing suit coverup with flip flops. I styled it right down the middle as a casual, but chic look. This outfit can be worn to the office, date night or for me, breakfast with the hubby and errand running. While my color pairing options were endless with this dress, I decided to go with this bauble necklace that brings several bright colors into the mix. This necklace is one of my go-to’s and even though it has coral, lime and aqua it is surprisingly easy to coordinate with many outfits. My new aqua and coral flats went perfectly with the necklace and the style was great for this dress. I love a good shift dress and a pair of flats! Since this dress has a bit of the “mod” 1960’s vibe to it with the cut and the print, I took the chance to wear my black cat eye sunnies! These made the outfit even more fun to wear! This getup is something that you can wear and not only feel super cute and put together, but also very comfortable which are the two main factors in creating a confidently dressed you!

This is {sadly} my last outfit blog post from Europe. I’ve enjoyed sharing pieces of our honeymoon with y’all, but I’m also excited to move onto posts about all of the fun summer clothes that I have in my closet here in Charleston! I absolutely love this post though not only because it takes us to Venice, one of the most charming, beautiful cities i’ve ever been to, but because it’s also my first collaboration! Okay, okay so it’s not an official colab, but this adorable little pooch was sitting so good in this alleyway the whole time we were shooting. If you look closely, you can see him in the background of several of the pictures. Eventually, I had to get closer and snap a picture of him (and of course get some lovin). As you can see, he is quite the model. This dress is one of my favorite throw on and go options. In fact, I wore it to last minute dinner plans two nights ago. Yes, I am an outfit repeater and proud of it!! I do like to switch up shoes and accessories though; check my Instagram to see if you can spy how I styled it this time. This look is perfect casual, but cute attire that you can wear for almost any occasion.  In Italy, I kept it very simple with hardly any accessories (my DSLR was enough of a necklace for me this trip). These shoes were something I purchased from Target literally four or more years ago! I had never even worn them, but held onto them knowing the right time would come and it finally did this Spring. Gladiator sandals are huge this year in every color, shape and style! These are a pretty practical and easy pair to wear with almost any outfit. This outfit will take you from sightseeing in Europe to a casual dinner with friends in Charleston!

Today begins the first day of a week full of Valentine’s attire posts! Why celebrate just one day when you can play dress up all week? This get up is something you can take from the office to date night. This is why I LOVE a good shift dress! They are so wearable and can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with flats. You could even wear this with tights and boots on a chilly day. Not to mention it is super comfortable! The animal print is another great, versatile aspect of this dress. Animal print=neutral and can be worn with basically any color! Given the festivities this week, I decided to add a fun pop of red this time with a pair of suede pointy toe heels. They really take what could of been a neutral, safe outfit with a pair of black heels to the next level. And this is not something you have to wait for Valentine’s Day to wear! This style can be worn anywhere from late Fall to early Spring. Now, I am somewhat addicted to lipstick, so I jump at any chance to wear a bright shade! Naturally, I took advantage of the red theme and added it on my lips too. To complete the look I added a medium sized pearl and gold bead necklace. I strongly feel that any shift style dress should ALWAYS be worn with a necklace! Otherwise, you just don’t look finished. The shift also provides a neckline that makes necklaces easy to wear, whether it be a chunky statement or a long pendant. This slightly chunky pearl necklace really polishes the look off nicely. This is a very simple outfit to put together, but gives you a classically chic look that will stand out from the rest.
