1. Zara Spring Shoes– Holy spring shoes jackpot!! I had never shopped Zara shoes before, but they are ON POINT this season!! I ordered 3 pairs this week (you can see my personal picks here, here and here) and not only were they all under $100 but I rush shipped them for only an extra $10 and they came instantly! This is the perfect way to play with spring trends without breaking the bank!

2. New Coffee Spot– I’ve officially found my new favorite away from home work space- Grind & Squeeze, a coffee shop, wine bar and smoothie and juice bar in one!! Um, can you say heaven?! Not only does this one stop shop basically have everything you could ever desire in one location, but they also have the most adorable little backyard patio! In this ridiculously beautiful spring weather I could’ve stayed out there all day!

3. Sabo Skirt– I’m always sketched out by the Facebook ads that pop up with insanely good deals on really cute stuff. But, after my awesome experience with Tobi (the site where you get half off basically every purchase- and no, it’s not a scam) I’ve started clicking more often! Today, I stumbled upon yet another awesome Aussie brand, Sabo Skirt. I have yet to try them but from the looks of it they’ve got some super on trend items for really low prices! I’m kind of obsessed with everything!

4. Brody Jenner’s Girlfriend– Yep, you read that right, but bear with me here! Kaitlynn Carter is a well traveled, educated and absolutely adorable girl with a pretty fabulous fashion sense!! I mean, look at this purple number– so perfect for spring! Well, she has just launched her new blog, Western Wild, last night! It’s got a lot of lifestyle, some travel and fashion- definitely a good one to add to your feed. She’s one to watch!!

5. Aldo Party– This Sunday at Aldo Shoes on King St. I will be hosting a sip and shop event from 6-8 pm! Atendees will receive 15% off during the event, plus giveaways throughout the evening! We will have some delish cupcakes from Cupcake Down South and champs to go with! Plus, I will be on hand to assist you with all your shopping needs- just in time to grab some last minute statement shoes for Charleston Fashion Week!

1. Chloé Susanna Bootie Look-a-like– Have you been craving the celeb favorite, Chloé Susanna bootie, like I have, but don’t want to pay the crazy price?! Well, on a recent King St. shopping trip (read: pulling for photo shoots while making the occasional purchase for myself) I walked into Aldo and found her cousin- the Bugiano! For literally a teeny fraction of the price of the designer version, you can get the look for less. Plus, they’re on sale an additional half off right now! This means you can totally get the funky red pair too!

2. My Fitness Pal– Before this week I never would have written about this. A. Because I wasn’t into healthy anything (we’ll see how long this realistically lasts) and B. I assumed everyone already knew about this handy little app! But, throughout the week I’ve mentioned it to several people and they had no clue what I was talking about, so I decided I must share it with y’all too! It’s a super easy to use fitness ap (duh) that helps you log your food and counts your calories and nutritional value. Also, if you’ve got the iPhone 6 it will count how many steps you take a day and how many calories that has burned. It’s really nifty and a great way to help you stay accountable for what you’re putting in your body everyday! Oh, and it’s FREE!

3. Tavi Gevinson– This Refinery 29 article about this cool girl. I’m not sure how I’ve never seen her before, but I kind of want to be her. Okay, I do want to be her, or at least have her closet!! (insert wide eyed emoji)

4. My Favorite Football Recipe– Since the Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday, I figured it would only be appropriate to share with y’all my favorite game day recipe- bacon wrapped little smokies. Don’t listen to the comments on the recipe page saying they’re time consuming, just enlist a helper to assist in doing the bacon wrapping and your delicious snack will be ready in no time! I make these for tailgating during college football season and they’re often the first to go and my most requested! They’re by no means healthy though, so maybe wait to download My Fitness Pal til Monday!

5. Vacation Envy– Because, in the middle of winter, who doesn’t want to lust after warm weather and fruity cocktails? What better way to do so than checking out the resort Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam, stayed in on her most recent trip to Antigua. This was her vacation from her vacation in St. Lucia. I mean seriously, the girl is everywhere! Instead of being jealous (like me), just grab a mai tai and flip through her Insta for a little Caribbean Friday pick me up!

Black Bootie Dilemma 2014

I know, I know “black bootie dilemma” is a bit dramatic, but if you’ve been on the market for a pair, then you feel my pain! First of all, I’m a little picky when it comes to black and especially black leather. There’s just always been something about it that screams “BIKER CHICK” and as much as I love Sons of Anarchy, (so sad about tomorrow night) I don’t particularly want to dress like a cast member. Then, there’s the fact that every time I fall in love with a pair, the price tag quickly crushes all of my dreams. So, assuming that I’m not the only girl on the face of the earth having these issues, I thought a little Real vs. Steal black bootie edition would be the perfect way to kick off the week! (see what I did there)

The Everyday Suede Bootie:

I’m pretty sure that this is THE ONE for me! This style can go with everything from jeans and a sweater to tights and a nice dress. The mid-height heel keeps them comfortable, but still tall enough to give your legs a little Kendall Jenner effect. BONUS: they’re suede, so that rules out any biker babe confusion.

The Flat Bootie:

This minimalist chic style is for the girl who wants the look, but without the bother of a heel. These are so on-trend when paired with black leather skinnies or rolled up dark denim. Also, try replacing your classic ballet flats with these to take any outfit up a notch!

The Hot Heeled Bootie:

The sky high leather bootie is the best choice for any party girl! These are the ideal booties to dress up and wear out. The thin heel and pointed toe make this a dressier option and while not as practical as the first two, will definitely make you stand out in a crowd. This is a perfect replacement for black pumps in freezing temps.

Today I wanted to share with y’all a little sneak of what next week is going to be full of- pictures by the amazing Susan Lloyd Photography! Susan is here locally in Charleston, but travels all over the Southeast shooting everything from families and weddings to bands and concerts. I’ve been so blessed to have her in my life since I was in middle school, as my youth group leader and now an adult, as my friend. Something she specializes in is beauty and integrity portraits, especially for young girls and women. I have now shot with her for engagement photos, these and boudoir pictures (for Todd’s eyes only) and I can truly say I’ve never felt as comfortable and beautiful with any other photographer. Susan spends the entire time lifting you up and through her photography brings out the best version of YOU! I am so excited to share her work with y’all for the next week!

Now, let’s get down to business about this outfit! I must admit, I’m normally not a huge neon fan and especially all over an outfit. But, I love the print and cut of this dress so much and besides, it’s summer, time to have a little fun with your wardrobe! This dress is the perfect daytime event attire. Have a shower, luncheon or wedding to attend? This is your go- to getup! The necklace is super trendy and the colors perfectly compliment the neon on the dress. I cannot get over how much I LOVE these two together. Since the dress is a bit on the shorter side, I didn’t want to wear too high of a heel. My favorite block heel sandals are the perfect compromise and keeps it from being too casual with flats or over the top with a higher heel. This really is a fairly simple outfit, but you will be anything but boring in this sassy little number!!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know what I’ve been up to for the past month- having a beautiful wedding with my best friend {now husband} and then embarking on a three week long honeymoon of our dreams to Europe! We have had an exciting and amazing past few weeks. Now, I’m thrilled to be able to share all of it with y’all! The first part of our trip, we spent traveling through northern Italy, which is where all of my outfit posts were shot. We went to Venice, Milan and Florence and loved each and every city for different reasons. Collectively though, our favorite was Milan, which is where my first post will take you. The people were wonderful, food DELICIOUS, fashion breathtaking and the big city feel incomparable. I could seriously see myself living there. To walk around town and do the tourist thing, I wanted my outfit to be a combination of comfortable, yet cool. I wanted to blend in with the locals (which, with my Italian roots isn’t too hard). Europeans have this amazing effortlessly chic look to their style. I made it my mission to embody that and soak in every bit of it while I was there. Neutrals are an easy way to do effortless. This sheer taupe blouse is a great staple to have in your closet. It can go with practically anything, in practically any weather. It is comfortable, yet classy. These cropped skinny jeans are officially my new favorites! Not only are they stretchy material, but they look great with heels, wedges, flats and flip flops. The color is a lighter wash, so I like to pair them with softer colors like ivory, nudes, and pastels. My favorite color of the year, blush pink, goes perfectly with them. Everyone remember how I say to always roll your skinny jeans when you’re wearing flats? Well, with how perfectly the hem of these fall on the leg that is not necessary. These blocked heel sandals I wore are a MUST HAVE- seriously, do yourself a favor and go out and get them NOW!!! I am obsessed with these! They are comfortable and casual enough to wear walking around a big city all day and easy enough to dress up to wear them out at night. They are the perfect shoe to take on a trip to Europe because they are so multi-functional. I love them so much, that I want to order two more pair to have on backup for when these get worn out (which the way i’ve been wearing them, they will). This bag is my go-to neutral purse. A gold chain strap takes any outfit to the next level of chic! No, it’s not Chanel {I wish} but it is still a beautiful quilted white leather purse by Kate Spade that will perfectly complete almost any outfit. Now, I must tell you the one accessory that I was missing was my hair being styled! The European outlets zapped my curling wand on the first day! So, until I could get a replacement it was au-natural for me. This actually works in Europe though, the more natural the better! Do you have any tips on what to wear when in Europe? I would love to get your input! {we are already planning our next trip}

This laid back look truly embodies everything that is my everyday wear. I live for {and in} comfy skinnies, a cute top & a pair of booties. It is what I feel my best and most comfortable in. The effortless look is really where it’s at and with a few little details can be so chic! I have had this top for a while, but just hadn’t made it a number one priority on my long list of outfits to wear. However, after seeing how huge the metallic trend was on the Oscar’s Red Carpet Sunday night I knew I HAD to wear it right away! A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and Kate Hudson (one of my personal best dressed’s of the night) were all wearing some hue of a shiny, glamorous metallic. But, who says the trend has to be saved for black tie events like the Academy Awards? This top is casual metallic heaven!! It feels like you’re wearing a t-shirt with the grey cotton that has a hint of glitter to it, but it is the faux leather rose gold sleeves that really MAKE the top. I also love the black collar lining. It is something so simple, but it just wouldn’t be as good without it. I wore it with my favorite “legging pants” as I like to call them. A simple cuff at the bottom instantly makes these stylish! LADIES- DO NOT TUCK YOUR PANTS INTO BOOTIES IF THE LEGS ARE GOING TO BE BUNCHY!!!! This is {clearly} a huge pet peeve of mine, and it just does not look good. Give your skinnies & booties the polished look by either cuffing them once or doing a tiny roll a couple of times. These happen to be my favorite booties of all time and they really look fabulous with anything and everything. It doesn’t hurt that they give you the comfort of a flat, but the confidence of a heel. Since I was going for the less is more appearance, I kept my accessories to a major minimum. The bracelet I am wearing is actually a necklace, but works great as both and has all sorts of wonderful metallic colors in there that really compliment my outfit. Finally, one of the most important factors with such a low key outfit is that {unless you’re just running to Target} you’ve got to have your hair/makeup looking fabulous! You can still give your hair that tousled bed head look, but make sure it isn’t REALLY bed head. I love a bold smoky eye with this because it really plays up such a simple outfit. This is a hot look that can be worn in the daytime or perfect for dinner or a night out! No matter where it is worn, you will look so chic and like you didn’t even try!
